The B Side: Observations, Illumination, and Education from the Hive Mind.
Saturday, September 21, 2019
Portland House of Music
9am – 12pm
This TedX-like event will strive to answer the question, “Why should I care about bees?” while exploring the myriad unexpected ways honeybees are part of the social and cultural fabric of our everyday life.
Proceeds from this event will fund our Education Outreach. Since 2011, The Honey Exchange has taught more than 8,000 schoolchildren about bees and beekeeping.

What’s good for the bee is good for me.
The Honey Exchange is a unique store that is part gift shop, part beekeeping hub. In addition to lovely, locally-made gifts that appeal to everybody, we teach beekeeping and sell beekeeping equipment year-round.
The Honey Exchange also has an education mission: we visit K-12 public schools, free of charge, to teach children about the value and beauty of honeybees.
